All of Carrie Lee’s techniques work equally well on paper, illustration board or canvas.
Carrie Lee Allbritton is an enthusiastic and energetic teacher who holds nothing back. Her students come away with a new understanding of their own creativity and how to express it using innovative tools, techniques, mediums and paint application. She also provides lots of information in printed form for the student to take home and use. This printed material has become legendary with her students.
You will be learning to add realism to abstracted background, as well as creating the fully abstracted painting. Please check out AllbrittonArt.com to see her compete collection of paintings. 2009 Workshops will be even more exciting because we will be planning a finished experimental/abstract painting by using printed papers, fabric, and magazine pages to layout and plan your artwork. You will also learn to use heavy fabrics and canvas to add dimensions to your finished work. Carrie Lee will also have available a few surprises to add to your finished artwork. (Carrie Lee will bring the canvas fabric, many printed papers and some heavy fabrics. Should you have scrapes of any heavy fabric etc, please plan to bring them.
Learn through this fast paced workshop:
Painting on newly created surfaces. We will create a "frame" on our support to add drama to the finished painting.
Personal, exciting and dramatic effects are created using gel-mediums, gesso, papers, and more.
Making your own personal "stamps" - using new materials
Creating painted papers for dramatic collages, and additions to your paintings.
You will learn how to build texture on your support before you paint on it. This will add even more drama and importance to your work.
Many more areas of experimental/abstract work will be explored and created.
Strong emphasis will be placed on self-expression, creativity and design.
We will be using new and fun instruments which will be available at the workshop. You will love this technique.
And so much more!
Even the beginning experimental artist will take home works of art to the proud of.
I can't wait to share with all of you the wonders of experimental, abstract/non-objective painting.
